Therapeutic Modalities
Every mental health clinician has their own approach that they take when it comes to providing therapy services. I like to take somewhat of an eclectic approach, which means that I draw from a variety of disciplines and techniques to address a client's unique needs.
That being said, I do tend to lean toward the use of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Talk therapy, and Supportive Therapy. I am also working to incorporate more Geek and Gaming therapeutic approaches.

Please see below for more information regarding the approaches that I take in therapy.
Approaches I
Utilize
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
An approach that combines techniques for emotion regulation and reality testing with concepts like mindfulness, acceptance, and distress tolerance.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
An approach used to enhance coping skills, regulate emotions, and process traumatic experiences effectively.
Talk and Supportive Therapy
An approach that focuses on offering emotional support, fostering self-esteem, and helping clients cope with challenges and stress.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
An approach that focuses on identifying and challenging negative thought patterns and beliefs, and developing practical skills to manage them.
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
An approach used to enhance motivation for change by helping clients explore and resolve ambivalence.
Geek and Gaming Approaches
Incorporating elements of geek culture and gaming into the therapeutic process with a goal of engaging clients, building rapport, and addressing various mental health issues in a relatable and motivating way.
